July 13, 2009 12:05 PM

Dear Compatriots of the Connecticut Line CTSSAR,

Just returned from the 230th Anniversary Commemoration of the Battle of Norwalk Weekend in Norwalk, Connecticut.

It was a great weekend, 2 beautiful days, it was just Saturday night where we had strong winds and rain, but we survived, and went home Dry!!!

My compliments to the members of the Line. We looked good on the field in both Saturdays "Burning of Norwalk" scenario and in Sundays "Battle of the Rocks" scenario. We received many compliments from the Continental Field Commander. HUZZAH!!! Great opportunity to burn a lot of powder on the field fighting British regulars. Good Show!!! I would like to thank the following members for attending the entire weekend:

Michael Chuckta
Dan Dudley
Lee Gerlander
Todd Gerlander
Randy Gerlander
Bob Lasprogato
Russell Wirtalla

We have ONE more encampment this year, Our "Grand Encampment" on Saturday,  September 12 - Sunday, September 13, 2009 at the Gov. Trumbull House/Wadsworth Stable in Lebanon, CT. Since Fort #4 is cancelled, I expect more members to be in Lebanon. I will be posting more details in the weeks ahead.

Put your faith in God and keep your powder dry,

Todd L. Gerlander
Colonel Commanding
