Norwalk Independence Day Celebration

July 7, 2009 1:19 PM

The Roger Sherman Branch #5 in Norwalk, the Norwalk-Village Green Chapter of the DAR, Crystal Theatre, and local officials participated in the reading of the Declaration of Independence on the Green along with the tolling of the bells, as part of "Let Freedom Ring", at 2 pm, followed by a patriotic program by the NHS at Mill HIll, with a program about the Battle of Norwalk, July 11, 1779 and a musical performance by Crystal Theatre. The event was hosted by the Norwalk Historical Society.

We all had a great time, learned a lot, were entertained, and - importantly - had about 400+ guests participate.

Please remind all our compatriots (and any friends and neighbors) about:
