The New England Contingent
of SAR Color Guards and Living History Units
THE NEW ENGLAND CONTINGENT OF SAR COLOR GUARDS AND LIVING HISTORY UNITS was raised on October 16,
1999 by the New England District of the Sons of the American Revolution. It’s objectives are to create, promote
and participate in New England Ceremonies and Events honoring our Nations Revolutionary War past, to
act as recruiters for the Sons of the American Revolution, and to foster friendship and support between the New
England State Societies.
THE NEW ENGLAND CONTINGENT is the FIRST DISTRICT
Color Guard/Living History Unit in the history of the National Society of the Sons of the American
Revolution. We are also the largest unit with over 40 members in uniform. Presently, Color Guardsmen from the Connecticut
and New Hampshire Societies are active in the unit.

The 11th Regiment of Connecticut Militia, Company of Grenadiers, Color
Guard/Living History Unit of the General Israel Putnam Branch #4 of
the Connecticut Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
