The Ninth Regiment of Connecticut Militia 1775 – 1783

Captain Matthew Mead’s Company

Color Guard/Living History Unit of the Roger Sherman Branch #7 - CTSSAR and
the Captain Matthew Mead Branch #11 - CTSSAR

Established in 2007 to act as the Educational Outreach of both Branches, the Color Guard portrays the Ninth Regiment of Connecticut Militia, Captain Matthew Mead’s Company.

This regiment saw service in the campaigns around New York in 1776, under the command of Brigadier-General Wolcott.

Membership in the Color Guard is open to any member of the Roger Sherman Branch or the Captain Matthew Mead Branch in good standing.

The Color Guard annually participates in:

• Living History Events
• Reenactments
• Parades
• Educational School Programs
• Historical/Patriotic Ceremonies and Commemorations
• SAR, DAR, and CAR Events.

Active in the Mid-Fairfield County/Greenwich Area of Connecticut
