Description:

The monument marks the landing of the British troops under the command of Generals Tryon and Garth, Saturday evening, July 10th, 1779, preparatory to the Burning of Norwalk, July 11th, 1779.

The site was marked by the Norwalk Chapter, D.A.R. 1899.
